In partnership, and with the direct support & legwork of our friends from Davao Durians Rugby Football Club, We're putting out a call to all our incredible volunteers, players, and supporters for a vital pitch rehabilitation project at the SOS Children's Village -Davao. Our goal is to get the playing surface in top-notch condition for the upcoming season, and we need your help to make it happen!

What we'll be doing:

Our primary task will be the planting of carabao grass to repair and strengthen the pitch. Carabao grass (Paspalum conjugatum) is known for its resilience and ability to thrive in our local conditions, making it an excellent choice for a durable rugby pitch. This involves preparing the ground, carefully laying out the grass, and ensuring it's properly bedded in.

Why your help is crucial:

A well-maintained pitch is essential for safe and enjoyable rugby. Your efforts will directly contribute to providing a better playing experience for everyone and ensuring the longevity of our beloved home ground.

When: August 2, 2025 (Saturday)

Important: Assembly starts at 3:30pm

What to bring (IF you have them):

* Garden gloves

* Spades/Shovels/Rakes

* Garden boots

* Wheelbarrows

* Hats and sunscreen (it's Davao, so it'll likely be still sunny!)

* Reusable water bottles (we'll provide water refills)

*Light snacks

What SOS CV provides:

* Carabao grass seedlings

* Some tools (but more hands with tools are always welcome!)

* Good company and a chance to bond with your fellow rugby enthusiasts!

No prior experience with planting is necessary – just a willingness to get stuck in and help out! This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to our community and ensure the pitch is in prime condition.
