Help us help our BINHI Scholars learn how to read, speak, and spell better through our virtual tutoring program.

About the Project

The BINHI Buddy Project is a one-on-one personalized tutoring method of learning where BINHI Scholars will be coached by a volunteer to help them overcome reading challenges. The project responds to the needs of the scholar by focusing on the reading skill where there is a difficulty. It aims to prepare the scholar for independent learning.

The project will be implemented online using available free online platforms such as Google apps and Facebook.

Qualifications and Requirements

Before becoming a BINHI Buddy, one must pass the following criteria:

• must register via bit.ly/4oCXdf8 and pay a volunteer fee of P350 that would directly cover the internet expenses of the BINHI Scholar
• must be able to speak both English and Filipino
• must be at least a college-level student
• an advocate of literacy and independent learning
• with keen observation skills
• willing to commit at least 60 minutes of his/her time every week for 9 weeks (total time: 540 minutes)
• must have a gadget and access to a stable internet connection
• must be knowledgeable of basic apps used for online classes (Facebook, Google Meet, etc.)

Timeline of Activities

• November 22, 2025 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM – Release of BINHI Buddy Orientation Materials via Google Sites
• November 22-28, 2025 – Self-paced Learning for BINHI Buddy Orientation Materials (Asynchronous via Google Sites)
• November 28, 2025 (Friday) at 1:00 PM – BINHI Buddy Tutors' Regrouping Session (Synchronous via Google Meet)
• December 1-7, 2025 – Start dates of the BINHI Buddy tutorial
• January 26-February 1, 2026 – End dates of the BINHI Buddy tutorial
